INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE 2016 - IPL 9

The ninth release of the most well known establishment based cricket association, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016, starts on April 9. The competition will keep on having 8 groups altogether after 2 of its groups — Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) — were given two-year suspension by the Indian Supreme Court. The restriction on CSK and RR was one of the remedial measures taken by the Indian court, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was then compelled to search for two new groups. The IPL 9, which starts on April 9, will end on May 29 with the last slated to be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The offers for the two new groups were won by Intex Technologies Ltd and the RPG-Sanjiv Goenka Group for the Rajkot and the Pune-based establishments. While the Rajkot-based establishment was named Gujarat Lions (GL), the Pune-based establishment was termed Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) in the development to the competition.

Two of CSK's players — MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina — won the captaincy parts in the new groups. While Dhoni will lead RPS alongside Stephen Fleming as the mentor, the Gujarat Lions will be captained by expert Indian all-rounder Suresh Raina. The closeout of the IPL 2016 saw previous Australian cricketer Shane Watson turning into the costliest player in the IPL 9. Watson was picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for Rs 9.5 crores. Then again, the baffling Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh was taken by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for Rs 7 crores. There were a few amazements also.
